Migration Checklist SAP PO to SAP Integration Suite

0

This article is an overview and collection of the activities you have to perform to migrate from SAP PO to SAP Integration Suite (mostly towards Cloud Integration). Not all topics are covered already with content, but this is constantly growing, so please check back if you miss anything or leave a comment.

Rule # 1: Challenge Lift & Shift. It is not always useful repeating the same ICO / integration flow in SAP CPI which was built in SAP PO. This activity is not about choosing the best 1:1 migration tool. If possible, try to improve at the same time by moving away from file-based legacy-style integration towards API usage, from batch to event-based integration, from full-load replications to (near-)realtime integration patterns. Keep reusability and simplicity in the center of your activities. Use API gateways (e.g. SAP API Management) to centralize and control the usage and access of APIs and position brokers (e.g. SAP Event Mesh) to apply Publish & Subscribe where applicable.
